Kids Still Say the Darnedest Things
On Friday, I was tooling along I-95 with my oldest (and youngest) child, when the subject of rock-and/or-roll music came up. I wondered aloud, "Hmmm—and/or? What do you suppose and divided by or is?" As so often happens when I try to be witty, my effort was met with awkward silence. Being used to that by now, I simply went about thinking of a new topic of conversation. I was still thinking, when she ventured, in the hesitant tone of one groping for the light, ". . . 'and' or'ths?"
I almost drove us into a guardrail.
