Well, I'm not sure it was worth the wait. Here's a Bobby Short panegyric set to the tune of Davis and Akst's Baby Face, but I confess that I didn't give my whole mind to it:

Where's the sport
Who could be qualified to hold the Carlyle fort,
Till we ascend the stars
To hit the Bar of Bars
